re:TH!NK's mission:

Through effective community collaboration, we create an environment that enables healthy lifestyle choices and deters substance abuse in order to improve the quality of life for all Winnebago County residents.

We will achieve our mission by:

  • Promoting safe and healthy decision making
  • Changing the social acceptability of substance use and abuse
  • Developing ways to make healthy lifestyle choices easier
  • Serving as a resource for the community
  • Connecting our youth, parents, organizations and local leaders to each other through our organization
  • Empowering the community to embrace responsibility for change
  • Raising awareness through informative, skill-building efforts
  • Establishing and maintaining an organized coalition structure
  • Providing a catalyst for community action and policy
  • Utilizing evidence-based practices



re:TH!NK’s priorities:
  1. Reduce the social acceptability and occurrence of underage drinking and binge drinking

  2. Support tobacco control policy changes at the local and state level that reduce use and access to tobacco products

  3. Reduce youth access to tobacco, alcohol and other substances

  4. Identify and implement specific measures that will increase access to healthier food options to vulnerable populations and make it easier for everyone to make healthier food choices

  5. Increase awareness of drug abuse by educating and outreaching to the community

  6. Utilize best practice programs and community partnerships to increase physical activity in the home, the workplace, and at school

  7. Educate local decision-makers about policy changes for creating an environment that promotes pedestrian/bicycle mobility

  8. Reduce barriers to gaining and accessing services for mental health, dental care, chronic disease management, injury prevention, sexual health and family planning

  9. Engage youth in support of education, outreach and policy activities to change the social acceptability of substance use and unhealthy lifestyle choices

  10. Develop social marketing campaigns that promote behavior chanages that lead to healthier decisions

  11. Identify and advocate for policy changes that help create an environment that supports health, activity and safety

  12. Utilize local data, measureable outcomes and evaluation practices to guide strategies and activities

  13. Support and advocate for prevention program sustainability locally, and statewide

  14. Support coalition building and increased local capacity through leadership development

  15. Improve the coalition’s cohesion, visibility and effectiveness in the community
