re:TH!NK WorkShop: Building Leadership

Because a lot of information about re:TH!NK is available on our website or in our quarterly eUpdate, we want our face-to-face time to be more useful and interactive. So, re:TH!NK holds quarterly "workshops" instead of meetings.

re:TH!NK's next WorkShop will focus on building leadership. Kristi Bradish from the Winnebago Conflict Resolution Center will present The 19 Points of Leadership which includes building trust, charisma to motivate, communication (the three levels of listening), settling disputes and the three core needs of people in groups. The training will begin at 2:30pm but re:TH!NK will have a short meeting starting at 2:00pm.

Jim Eagan and David Di Pietro of The Lean Economics team have more than 35 years of combined experience implementing Continuous Improvement processes, covering a wide range of industries. LEAN businesses require less human effort, capital investment, floor space, materials, and time in all aspects of operation. LEAN can help any business or organization make quality improvements to make their work more efficient and effective. Participants will learn what LEAN is and how it can be used at their workplace.


Marketing 101

Learn the basic elements of marketing taught especially for us non-profit organizations who lack the marketing background. Training highlights will be "pushing the brand," available media venues, how to refine messages for targeted audiences, and the DO's and DON'Ts of marketing campaigns. This training includes useful takeaways for committee work and a hands on workshop for developing a coalition campaign plan.


Free Telephone Seminar Series: Drug and Alcohol Awareness for Parents
Listen in on this free series of telephone seminars that will help you better understand today's changing landscape of substance abuse. The seminars are ideal for anyone interested in learning more about teen drug addiction. Each seminar will include the participation of a leading expert within the field and a parent from The Partnership at Drugfree.org's Parent Advisory Board, who will share his or her personal experience with the topic being presented.

Empowering Coalitions for Community Change Webinar Series
Presented in partnership with the WI DHS Nutrition, Physical Activity and Obestity Program, this series will help coalition members learn the tools and skills needed to effectively work on prevention intitaives. re:TH!NK coordinators and leadership committee members will be viewing the webinars every other Thursday at 11am. Building and Sustaining Effective Coalitions
This is a full-day coalition building training with Fran Butterfoss. Fran Butterfoss is the director of Coalitions Work an organization that helps train coalitions. Learn the steps and strategies to build and sustain a succesful community coalition. The webinar is a taped training that was offered by the Nutrition Physical Activity & Obesity program in October of 2010. It has been broken down into two two-hour sessions.

Using the Social Ecological Model for Effective Community Intervetions
