The tobacco industry is shifting gears toward marketing new smokeless, spitless, fruit flavored and brightly colored tobacco products. These non-cigarette "other tobacco proucts" (OTPs) are a threat to Wisconsin' youth and the health of the public. See what we're doing to educate the community about the harm of OTP.

WI's smoke-free air law took effect July 5, 2010 to protect workers and the public from the dangerous health effects of secondhand smoke. Over one year later, 75% of WI residents support the law. And 78% of residents think that the law is working well.

All Winnebago County law enforcement agencies participate in tobacco compliance investigations through the WI WINS Program, a collaborative effort between law enforcement, youth volunteers and local coalitions. WI Wins uses positive reinforcement to reduce illegal tobacco sales to minors. It congratulates local clerks who do not sell tobacco to youth, while educating those who would. This approach creates community pride by reducing youth access to tobacco products and provides youth a chance to make a difference in their community.
