re:TH!NK, Winnebago's Healthy Living Partnership, is the community engagement "arm" of the  Winnebago County Health Department. re:TH!NK coordinates efforts with help from our local partners to create a place where everyone has the opportunity to live the healthiest life possible.

veggieboxCooking up Ratatouille for School Lunches, Farm to School Style!

Winnebago County Farm to School and the food service staff from Oshkosh and Green Bay school districts teamed up to prepare and freeze 2000 lbs of Ratatouille sauce to be served this school year. The sauce features locally-grown tomatoes, squash, eggplant, peppers, onions, garlic, and fresh herbs from farms in Northeast WI. Students will have the opportunity to eat the ratatouille sauce in their school lunch in various dishes like pasta, wraps, and pizza. For all the recent media coverage, visit our partner website Live54218.

CHIP 2010-WHD logo2014 Implementation Reports

A Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) is a document that helps local health departments meet the needs of their local community. The Winnebago County Health Department (WCHD) just completed implementation of its 2010 CHIP, so we put together reports documenting the progress that has been made in each priority through collaboration with WCHD and re:TH!NK's partners. Check out the reports on WCHD's website (priorities are listed under "Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) Info") and see how you can get involved with the 2015 CHIP process!

re:TH!NK recently held our annual legislative breakfast to inform local decision-makers and elected officials about the importance of incorporating health into all policy decisions. Many of the resources from the event have been posted on our website along with videos of the presentations.

SeniorFriendly Map WebSenior Friendly Activity Locations

As part of the promotion of National Senior Health & Fitness Day, several older adult and senior service agencies in Winebago County put together a new map of senior-friendly activity locations. 

A senior friendly activity location is defined by being ADA accessible, well lit, easy terrain, can be easily walked & biked (paved), has senior friendly equipment, and is low cost or free.

Choose a 'SmartPlate' at Local Restaurants

We've partnered with several area restaurants to bring you SmartPlate, a new initiative highlighting menu items that get a "thumbs up" from local health professionals. Check out the the re:TH!NK food & nutrition page or the SmartPlate website to learn more about this project.


The re:TH!NK Youth Coalition took over our local cable access show for the month of August and have a lot to share!

An emerging new alliance, Fox Valley Thrives, explain the first issue they are working on together, access to transportation. The first ever Cookin' It Fresh Challenge was held April 19, 2015 and featured 4 teams from ONHS and OWHS. National Senior Health and Fitness Day encourages older adults to get active with a variety of options.
