re:TH!NK, Winnebago's Healthy Living Partnership, is a community coalition supported by the Winnebago County Health Department. re:TH!NK coordinates efforts with help from our local partners to create a place where everyone has the opportunity to live the healthiest life possible.

ActionTeamNight flyerre:TH!NK Launching New Action Teams!

We heard from you! After serveral months of listening to issues presented by community members and residents, re:TH!NK is launching new action teams. Action Team Night is scheduled for Thursday, March 23 at 5pm at the Winnebago County Administration building (112 Otter Ave) in Oshkosh. We'll kick of the evening with a brief overview of reT:H!NK and then each action team will be meeting to discuss their first activities as a team.

re:TH!NK, Winnebago's Healthy Living Partnership is looking for anyone that is interested in making a difference in improving social and place connectedness, increasing availability and access to healthy foods and beverages, creating more active communities, and reducing alcohol abuse. You're invited if you’re excited about improving the health of our community, whether you’re brand new to re:TH!NK or have been with us for years!

bikesontrailCounty Nearly Completed with Bicycle & Pedestrian Plan

The Winnebago County Health, Highway, and Parks Departments are almost ready to finalize the "Connecting People and Communities: Winnebago County Bicycle & Pedestrian Plan." The year-long planning process has gathered input from a 16-member steering committee and over 175 residents on what would make walking and bicycling easier and safer in the rural parts of the County.

The Plan will go through County Committees connected to the County Departments involved, and be presented for a vote on a resolution of acceptance at the Winnebago County Board meeting on Tuesday, February 14, 2017.

 

Lifepoint needle exchange logoAIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin

The Harm Reduction Pillar of the Winnebago County Heroin Task Force has partnered with ARCW to bring the LifePoint Needle Exchange service to Oshkosh.The purpose of LifePoint is to reduce the transmission of HIV and Hepatitis C and other potnential harms associated with injection drug use. LifePoint seeks to reduce overdose related to injection drug use and provide infromation and referral to treatment.

The LifePoint Needle Exchange Service is open Monday-Friday 8:30A-3:30P at the Winnebago County Health Department, 2nd floor of 112 Otter Avenue.

 

KidsLiveWell Logo 500Healthier Kids Meals

 Finding healthy kid's meals in restaurants is now easier by using the Kids LiveWell program. re:TH!NK is partnering  with the National and Wisconsin Restaurant Associations to raise awareness of and increase restaurant offerings in the Kids LiveWell. Kids LiveWell meals are low in calories, sodium, fat, and sugar, and contain fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and l ow-fat dairy for a nutritionally balanced meal.
